Victorian Reference - Batman:Gotham by Gaslight Video Game

Hey everybody, I hope everyone is having a good weekend. I'm sure everyone has already seen this, but I think that this could be good inspiration. Apparently, there was a Victorian/Steampunk Batman video game in the works called Batman: Gotham by Gaslight. This video came out to show off what the artists were able to complete before the game was cancelled. I think this could be very helpful for anyone who is doing a Victorian project. The backgrounds have be rendered just enough to show us what the key elements of a Victorian setting are (mist, fruit stands, brick buildings, creepy branches, etc.). The video also contains some cool angles that can help give you guys some ideas for layouts. There are also a couple of characters, so you can see some Victorian clothing (including Victorian Batman). The game is also based on a graphic novel of the same name, so that could be helpful, too. You can see some of the artwork on Google/Yahoo images.

Here are some screenshots from the game (nothing special, sadly), and here is the concept artist's website (she had to take her Batman work down, sadly). However, I would recommend checking out Julie Farrell's site, she's awesome.

See you guys on Monday!
